It's been a week and 2 days since I last walked. Thank heavens for hardwood floors. Since we have them, I can get around the house by rolling on an ancient office chair. Which means that my primary means of transport is now my ass.
I am kind of getting used to this. Two nights ago I finally figured out how to manoever myself into the bathtub. Hallelujah! Baths are a major part of my routine and I was really missing them.
Last night, social isolation was relieved by the appearance of afrindiemum-and-dad and BMC and Boyband, with their respective rugrats. The adults enjoyed a buffalo wings feast while the chilluns enacted a cranky melee around us.
All of our toddlers are going through the same bitchy teething/tantrum phase. Everyone always thinks their child is the worst, but seriously! I think ours is. He's such a bitch! At one point I was playing kids' songs on the guitar, trying to calm the masses. BMC's Foo Monkey was dancing with glee right in front of me, which didn't agree with Loo. He toddled over and placed his hand over the strings while glaring at her, as if to say "This is MY MAMA. You may not enjoy her." Earlier in the evening, I'd had him and afrindiemum's Z parked in front of a Spot video while we waited for everyone else to arrive. Loo was reclining on his usual blankie and pillow, so I got one for Z too. She laid down and cuddled the pillow for about 2 minutes, then got up to play with something. As soon as she got up, Loo picked up her blanket and pillow and handed them to me ("she may NOT participate, mama, what are you thinking?") then laid back down. Grouchy old man!
It really did me good to have people over. We need more of that.
I have my friend here from Chicago. She doesnt have any kids, but man. It is so good to have people over here.
I am so jealous, you got to be with some very cool people.
AHA, two broken foot bitches at one get together. Except, BMC prally never got an X-ray, did she.
