In addition to crawling and pulling up/cruising, Loo has started "talking". He's now gracing us with actual syllables instead of his usual shrieks and squeaks.
Here's a typical monologue (said with feeling):
"Ba! Da! Ba! Da! Da! Bla! Bla! Ma! Da! Ba! Ba! Bla! Bla! Da! Da! Ma! Bla!"
And although I am not 100% sure it means me, he is saying a lot of:
then again, he does usually say it when he wants me. Which could also mean he just wants boobie. then again, I guess I am boobie. Dammit, that's all I am--just a whole buncha boobie!!
No seriously, it's a major milestone. He's worked his way through "ma" and "maaaaam" (I've been telling myself "oh, it's just a coincidence") to "Ma-ma!" (at this point, I guess he probably means it.)
E. sez pretty soon I will be sick of hearing it, but for right now it's very endearing.
And I am all Loo wants right now. Last night sweet E. offered me a "child-free day" as part of my mother's day gift. I heard that and I was all, welllllll, nice try but it ain't gonna work. E. didn't really believe me (since he's away at work all day, he hadn't seen Loo's current bout of severe clinginess first-hand) until today, when every time he tried to do anything for Loo, it was "Mama! MA-MA!" Even if I am standing right there, it's not enough. He has to be in my arms. Just wants me every. single. second. What is up with this? I can't even put him in the shopping cart. His ass wants me to CARRY HIM. I'm all pushing a shopping cart full of groceries with one arm, plus carrying 22 pounds of Loo with the other. It's hard. By the end of the day I am DONE.
But the "Mama's" are really cute, I have to admit.
